To the Editor:

It is with enthusiasm that I endorse Krista Palomba’s election to the Watertown Board of Education. On November 2nd, Watertown residents must choose between leadership defined by a vision for what future WPS students will need or an agenda defined by personal animosity.

The Board of Education is charged with crafting a vision for our school system made up of students with diverse needs and interests. The men and women honored by our community with the opportunity to serve must have the temperament necessary to help build a system that allows each student to maximize his or her potential.

That simply cannot happen if the members are focused entirely on picking a new antagonist and convincing the community that he or she is source of their problems rather than focusing on what is best for our current and future students.

Over the years I have watched Krista contribute to the community through volunteerism in the town, in the schools and on the field. There is no other candidate more in tune with what the students need to achieve their goals than Ms. Palomba.

More importantly, she is the type of person who refuses to roll over when doing so would be detrimental to the future of the schools. For these reasons, I will cast my vote for Krista Palomba, Republican candidate for Board of Education.
