“The Watertown Public Schools community has lost a beloved educator, mentor, coach, and friend.

“Roger Ouellette was a fixture in the Watertown and Oakville communities. For many years, Mr. Ouellette coached baseball and football, and he served as a teacher of Physical Education at Watertown High School.

”The impact of Roger Ouellette goes well beyond the boundaries of Watertown and Oakville, and it is impossible to count the number of lives that he has impacted.

“Roger was a dear friend and so many former student-athletes are able to recount the countless lessons learned and fond memories they experienced over the years through his mentorship and care.

“The name Roger Ouellette is synonymous with Watertown Athletics and you are not able to think about one without the other.

“Roger worked extremely hard to create a positive and caring atmosphere for all athletes. A true supporter and fan, Roger would show his support even after he retired.

“It was commonplace to find Roger at a football game on Friday night or watching a basketball game in the gym.

“Roger will be sorely missed.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Ouellette family.”
