Wellspring to Offer Parenting Series

Wellspring Counseling Services will offer an eight week series focused on how to parent children with challenging behaviors with discussions led by licensed marriage and family therapists, Kathy Dowling (left) and Frances Smith.

WATERBURY — Wellspring Counseling Services will offer an eight week series focused on how to parent children with challenging behaviors from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, starting October 1 ,at Thomaston Savings Bank, 985 Watertown Ave. 

Licensed marriage and family therapists Kathy Dowling and Frances Smith will lead this group with facilitated discussions, group support and workbooks, which will be provided, to teach participants how to respond rather than react to their children.

This group is possible through a Connecticut Community Foundation grant from their Healthy Communities Fund.

Participation is limited to residents of Beacon Falls, Bethlehem, Bridgewater, Cheshire, Goshen, Litchfield, Middlebury, Morris, Naugatuck, New Milford, Oxford, Prospect, Roxbury, Southbury, Thomaston, Warren, Washington, Waterbury, Watertown, Wolcott and Woodbury. 

The cost of the eight-week series is $80 per family.
