WASHINGTON DEPOT — Carol Smart, 75, passed away peacefully in her home, Friday, September 6, 2019. She was a longtime resident of her beloved Washington Depot.

Carol was an avid trout fisherman, as well as a creative seamstress and tailor. Those who knew her well will agree she was a woman of all trades, but she was happiest sitting on the bank of a local pond or brook, waiting for the next fish to take the bait.

She leaves a daughter, Brenda; sons Timothy and Robert with wife, Chris; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She also leaves three sisters, Jude, Lauri and Bobbi, and a brother, Phil.

She was predeceased by a brother, Gary, and a sister, Geraldine.

Closest to Carol’s heart were her cherished pets, Zebbie, Bengal cat and Harley, a miniature dachshund, who are now in loving homes. She was predeceased by her treasured TJ (Typhoon Junior).

She leaves several close friends she considered family, Trudy, Kim, Jen and Pam.

Funeral arrangements are private per Carol’s request.
