EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT

Griffin Kavanaugh (right) of Troop 60 in Southbury completed his Eagle Scout project in June at the Bent of the River Audubon Center. He constructed and mounted three cedar flower boxes to replace the aging ones on the side of the main barn and placed two cedar bird ground feeders. The materials were donated by H.H. Stone and the wood was sourced from a large cedar tree adjacent to the barn that had fallen during the May 2018 storm. The project was overseen by Land and Facilities Manager Glen Somogie.
