To the Editor:

Many thanks to the Seymour Fire Department (and the fire departments from surrounding towns who also responded) for their efforts in fighting the fire that engulfed our historic building at 151 Main St., Seymour, on Saturday, August 29. These firemen heroically fought the fire for more than three hours, finally extinguishing it. Thankfully, there were no injuries.

We would especially like to thank Seymour Fire Marshal Tim Willis. Tim made an extremely horrific situation much easier with his compassionate, considerate assistance and his knowledge, answering our endless questions.

Finally, thanks to all our friends and neighbors in Seymour who have extended their condolences and offered their help in dealing with the fire’s aftermath.

While the building is now unusable, The Greenwich Workshop hopes to be back in business on Main Street as soon as we can.
